Doug’s passion for computers began early in life, and it quickly became clear that they would be central to the career path he wanted to pursue. Starting out in graphic design, Doug worked with small businesses to create logos, marketing materials, and catalogs. As the web began to emerge, his focus shifted from print to web design and development, where he discovered his love for building with code, which soon became his primary passion.
Early in his career, Doug worked with small businesses and startups, sharpening his skills and successfully delivering web development projects. His growing success led him to a position as a software development consultant at the U.S. Department of State. In his time there, he built internal applications to support various organizational needs within the department. As he gained more experience, Doug took on leadership roles and eventually led the development of a large-scale Content Management System deployed across U.S. embassies, and facilitating the dissemination of information throughout the U.S. and foreign governments.
After six years of consulting at the Department of State, Doug transitioned to commercial consulting, working through agencies on large software projects. He later held full-time positions, including building content management systems for the Time Inc. magazine websites and multiple iterations of the HBO streaming platform.
During his over 10 years at HBO, Doug was instrumental in the development of the HBO GO, Now, and Max streaming services. In addition to software development, he gained extensive experience in large-scale product development, creating systems capable of handling extremely high traffic, and managing teams. Rising to Director of Software Engineering, Doug led an organization of 40+ engineers and managers, overseeing systems responsible for processing millions of dollars in transactions daily.
After leaving HBO, Doug returned to consulting with a focus on helping companies improve processes and boost productivity through low-code / no-code (LC/NC) solutions. Having spent many years in traditional software development, he experienced firsthand the significant time and resources that creating it requires, which has often caused businesses to fall back on manual, time-consuming processes. He’s excited about the time and cost-saving opportunities that LC/NC can open, and is eager to help companies make the most of them.
Outside of work, Doug enjoys outdoor activities, especially golf and skiing. He lives with his family in the Rochester, NY area.
Doug’s passion is creating solutions and solving problems, and he’s eager to hear about your challenges. Please reach out to discuss how he can help.
